<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high cleanliness spring steel useful for the production of a spring having excellent fatigue properties in a high Si steel. <P>SOLUTION: The high cleanliness spring steel having excellent fatigue properties has a composition comprising, by mass,≤1.2% (excluding 0%) C, 1.8 to 4% Si, 0.1 to 2.0% Mn and≤0.01% (excluding 0%) total Al, and the balance iron with inevitable impurities, and in which the Si content and the content of solid solution (SIMS) Ca in the steel satisfy the relation in inequality (1): Si×10<SP>-7</SP>≤solid solution (SIMS) Ca≤Si×5×10<SP>-7</SP>..(1) [wherein, the solid solution (SIMS) Ca and Si denote the respective contents (mass%) in the steel]. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
