PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back light device capable of performing optical measurement of an optical member in a short time, by preventing a change in a measured value caused by a temperature change inside of a back light due to replacement of a sample. SOLUTION: This back light device has a light source 11, a light diffusing box 13, an opening part 17 arranged in the light diffusing box 13, a light transmissive cover member 14 for blocking up the opening part 17, and an optical fiber 12 for guiding the light of the light source 11 in the light diffusing box 13. An inner surface of the light diffusing box 13 is constituted of a light diffusing reflecting layer 18 for emitting the light incident via the optical fiber 12 via the light transmissive cover member 14 by diffusing and reflecting the light.
