PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain a blank-delivered liquid from being accumulated by a maintenance operation of a liquid droplet delivery head for delivering an ink droplet or the like, and to prevent a nozzle for delivering a liquid droplet from being clogged. SOLUTION: The ink is restrained from being accumulated in a blank delivery receiver 86, by carrying out the blank delivery into a cap member 83 having an absorber 82 when a lapse time from a printing-finished time point up to the start of the next printing is short, and by carrying out the blank delivery into a blank delivery receiver 86 having no absorber when the lapse time is long, in a blank delivery operation when starting printing.
