<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger and a method for manufacturing of the heat exchanger capable of easily performing integral brazing by allowing a mounting bracket to be assembled by a single touch and temporarily fixed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this heat exchanger, a partially planar tank side planar section 152b is formed on peripheral walls 151a, 152a of a tank section 150, three arm sections 162, 163, 164 are disposed on the bracket 160, one arm section 162 is provided with a bracket side planar section 162a kept into contact with the tank-side planar section 152b, the other two arm sections 163, 164 are abutted on the peripheral walls 151a, 152a while surrounding the peripheral walls 151a, 152a by 180 degrees or more in the circumferential direction, an end section 162b of the bracket side planar section 162a is controlled to position on a step section 153 as a boundary between the peripheral walls 151a, 152a and the tank-side planar section 152b, and abutting sections of the peripheral walls 151a, 152a and three arm sections 162, 163, 164 are brazed.
