<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device of high definition and high luminance capable of being installed in various outdoor environments. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image display device includes: a casing 2 with a heat insulating means provided thereon; a projector 3 as an image display means; a screen 6 displaying an image output from the projector 3; and cooling means 22, 23 cooling the inside of the casing 2. The heat insulating means includes a first heat insulating part 11 provided at a periphery part of the projector 3 to perform the heat insulation and a second heat insulating part 12 provided at a periphery part of the screen 6 to perform the heat insulation.
