<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration isolating device for a building capable of surely isolating a building having an accommodation space for human beings such as a house from an earthquake, a building equipped with the vibration isolating device and a vibration isolating method for a building. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A foundation 100 of a house comprises a lower foundation section 110 constructed on the ground G and an upper foundation section 120 separably installed on the lower foundation section 110. A habitable structure 200 of the house is fixed to the upper foundation section 120. Individual lock units 300a of the vibration isolating device 300 unlock the habitable structure 200 from the lower foundation section 110 when a P wave is detected by a P wave sensor. Along with the above operation, a gas jetting unit 300b of the vibration isolating device 300 jets gas from a gas storage unit 340 through a gas pipe system toward the ground G side.
