PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveying device which eliminates the current leak caused by bedewing of a conveying belt and significantly reduces the paper for absorbing dew almost without increasing manufacturing cost and the amount of consumed power. SOLUTION: The conveying device conveys a recording member while adsorbing the member onto the surface of an endless belt to which a voltage is applied. The conveying device has a driving device which suspends and orbits the endless belt, a power source which applies the voltage to the endless belt, a conveying roller pair 44 which sandwiches the recording member and conveys it onto the endless belt 31, a retention device 44 which disposes a moisture absorbing member at a predetermined position above the endless belt 31 and retains it at the predetermined position while part of or all of the member is in contact with the endless belt surface, and a rotation amount measuring device which measures the amount of rotation of the endless belt.
