PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backup roll device having reduced number of parts, achieving reduction of manufacturing cost, being easily assembled and dissembled, preventing leakage of grease and having small torque or the like. SOLUTION: Labyrinth seals 17, 17 for sealing between a roll 8 and a shaft 9 are arranged at both ends thereof in the axial direction of the roll 8. A ball bearing 11 is arranged between one labyrinth seal 17 in the axial direction and a roller bearing 10 adjacent to the one labyrinth seal 17. A spacer 23 with a groove having an inner circumferential groove 23a is arranged between the other labyrinth seal 17 in the axial direction and the roller bearing 10 adjacent to the one labyrinth seal 17.
