PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reception quality when a preceding wave is present, in a communication system utilizing OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing). SOLUTION: A fast Fourier transform (FFT) section 104 performs Fourier transform on an OFDM signal to generate a frequency domain signal. A delay amount calculation section 23 creates a delay profile of the OFDM signal. A control determination section 24 utilizes the delay profile to detect a principal wave and an interference wave. When a time difference between the principal wave and the preceding wave is greater than a guard interval of the OFDM signal, an FFT window control section 22 sets a starting position of an FFT window to be preceding to a symbol starting position of the principal wave by the guard interval.
