The engine-pump-unit (10) has a tubular cable channel (18) formed with a housing (12) as a single piece. Control components are accommodated in a retainer (20). The cable channel is provided parallel to a center axis of the housing. The cable channel extends over the entire length of an engine. A pump unit (14) is attachable to the housing. The cable channel is aligned in an assembled condition with a tubular section (16) of the pump unit. An outer contour of the housing is provided with circulating ribs (26), which strengthen the housing.
