<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the stability and durability of a column used for outdoor lights and road traffic signs. <P>SOLUTION: A flange-like base plate 22 is affixed to the bottom end of a column body 21 formed of a hollow shaft. The bottom section of the column body 21 forms a flare section 21a gradually expanded downwards. A tapered reinforcement core section 23 is fitted into the flare section 21a. A connection hole 22b into which the bottom end of the flare section 21a is inserted is formed in the base plate 22. The bottom end edge of the flare section 21a is welded to the inner periphery of the connection hole 22b, and the bottom outer periphery of the flare section 21a is welded to the upper opening edge of the connection hole 22b. The outer peripheral surface of the reinforcement core section 23 is fitted to the inner peripheral surface of the flare section 21a, and only the bottom end edge thereof is welded to the inner periphery of the flare section 21a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
