<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a trigger action of code information reading corresponding to a characteristic motion of a user's hand. <P>SOLUTION: A reader comprises: a triaxial acceleration sensor 21 which detects acceleration at predetermined intervals; a laser scanner part 20 which reads code information by light irradiation; and a CPU 11 which calculates a value of at least one of average and variance of the detected accelerations at a predetermined time, determines whether a predetermined state transition corresponding to the characteristic motion of the user's hand occurs or not based on the calculated value of at least one of average and variance, and starts reading code information by the laser scanner part 20 when the predetermined state change occurs. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
