PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article allowing an absorbent layer center part to achieve always stable deformed state without being twisted. SOLUTION: The absorbent article includes at least a liquid-permeable sheet, a liquid-impermeable sheet, and an absorber held between the liquid-permeable sheet and the liquid-impermeable sheet. The absorber is composed of an absorbent layer center part, and an absorbent part with lower basis weight than the absorbent layer center part around the absorbent layer center part. Compressed linear grooves are disposed at least along side edges on the left side in the lateral direction and on the right side in the lateral direction in such a way as to enclose the absorbent layer center part. The compressed linear groove has an intermitted part around the center line in the longitudinal direction, and a space projecting to a skin contact surface side is formed between the absorber and the liquid-impermeable sheet on a side of at least a part of the compressed linear grooves disposed along the side edge on the left or right side in the lateral direction on the skin non-contact surface side of the absorber.
