PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly sterilize the inside face of a cup relating to the sterilization method and apparatus for a cup-like container. SOLUTION: Hydrogen peroxide mist (a) or gas b is sprayed toward an opening part and a bottom part of the cup at an intermittent stop position from respective sterilization nozzle heads 7 and 8 while the cup is intermittently transferred. The sterilization nozzle head 8 which sprays the hydrogen peroxide mist (a) or gas b to at least the opening part of the cup is formed with many small discharging holes 8a. A surrounding wall 22 extending from the surrounding of the head to the surrounding of a flange 3 formed on the opening part of the cup is provided between the sterilization nozzle head and the opening part of the cup. The flow of the mist or gas is directed to the opening part of the cup without disturbing the flow of the hydrogen peroxide mist or gas because the flow between hot air c for drying or sterilized air keeping the inside of a sterilizing chamber at positive pressure and the hydrogen peroxide mist or gas sprayed from the nozzle heads is blocked by the surrounding wall.
