PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tuner control method by which tuning of overlapping channels is handled without requiring complicated selection operation by a user. SOLUTION: A tuner control method, by which a channel code constituted of broadcast identification information and a channel number is interpreted, and tuning is indicated to a tuner for tuning to a channel by interpreting a channel number, includes: receiving overlap information constituted of a plurality of channel codes including the same channel number and operation information corresponding to the channel codes; and, in response to a tuning instruction based on a predetermined channel code, if the predetermined channel code is included in the overlap information, indicating the tuning by transmitting to the tuner the channel number included in the predetermined channel code and the operation information corresponding to the predetermined channel code.
