PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus for revealing a hidden character of an output object with a copy-forgery-inhibited pattern even when using a copying machine with a super-resolution technology for copying.

SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus includes: a means for obtaining a plurality of low-resolution images; a super-resolution processing means for generating a high-resolution image using the plurality of low-resolution images; a copy-forgery-inhibited pattern detection means for detecting a pattern of a copy-forgery-inhibited pattern using the high-resolution image; and a control means for switching between the high-resolution image and the low-resolution image on the basis of a detection result of the copy-forgery-inhibited pattern detection means to output the image.
