<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance image quality while maintaining a code amount of compressed data to be obtained when compression is performed with a set compression rate by effectively using a code amount which is not used. <P>SOLUTION: Each tile is compressed with a plurality of compression rates including the set compression rate, and code amount difference obtained by subtracting a target code amount which is a theoretical code amount of compressed data to be obtained when image data is compressed with the set compression rate from the total code amount obtained by integrating the code amounts of the tiles compressed with the set compression rate is used for making a compression rate of the tile whose degree of effect is high into a lower compression rate by one. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
