PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-sided printer capable of efficiently printing double sides, and capable of compactly arranging a carrying passage, without staining paper by ink by a single printing unit. SOLUTION: This double-sided printer has the single printing unit 10, a main carrying passage 11 oppositely arranged to the printing unit 10, a discharge passage 12 connected to the main carrying passage 11, a reversal passage 13 connected to the main carrying passage 11 so as to freely switch the passage and having a switchback mechanism for switching the carrying direction of the paper, and a return passage 14 connected to the reversal passage 13 and returning the paper to the main carrying passage 11 in a state of turning a reverse surface to the printing unit side. The reversal passage 13 is arranged on the printing unit arranging side to the main carrying passage 11, and the return passage 14 is arranged on the opposite side of the printing unit arranging side. The reversal passage 13 and the return passage 14 have air suction type belt carrying mechanisms 23 to 27, and suck and carry the reverse surface side of the surface-printed paper in the passage.
