<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a high-speed tracking characteristics to the variation of a receiving condition and a high degree estimation accuracy which is compatible in gain control. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An AGC (automatic gain control) unit 14 amplifies a multi-carrier signal in a received time domain by a predetermined amplification rate. An FET (fast-Fourier transform) unit 18 transforms the amplified multi-carrier signal in the time domain to a frequency domain. An equalizing unit 20 demodulates the converted multi-carrier signal in the frequency domain. A control unit 26 decides on the amplification rate in the AGC unit 14, based on the multi-carrier signal in the converted frequency domain and the amplified multi-carrier signal in the time domain.
