<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially advantageous production method by which laurolactam can readily be produced in high yield in the production of the laurolactam by Beckmann rearrangement of cyclododecanone oxime. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the laurolactam includes carrying out the Beckmann rearrangement of the cyclododecanone oxime in a nonpolar solvent in the presence of phosphorus pentoxide, zinc chloride and a nitrile compound.
