PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator element which has no attenuation of displacement even if it is applied with a constant voltage for a long period of time and has good controllability in that the operating direction is uniquely determined by the voltage. SOLUTION: The actuator element 1 comprises a molded body 11 composed of a polymer having an ionic functional group, an ionic liquid which is used at a ratio of less than 0 to 50 mol% relative to the ionic functional group of the polymer and swells the molding 11, and multiple electrodes 13a and 13b provided in contact with the molded body 11.
