The transducer has a plate shaped ceramic body (1) exhibiting a piezoelectric effect in a polarization direction (5). Electrodes (2, 3) are arranged on a base surface and a cover surface of the ceramic body. The ceramic body has different thicknesses (d1, d2) in regions in the polarization direction. The body is connected with a substrate (10) by one of the electrodes. The substrate is formed as a circular ring segment or a hollow ball section. The polarization direction runs perpendicular to a surface of the substrate. The body consists of high quality ceramic material. An independent claim is also included for a piezoelectric transformer.
