The hydrodynamic machine has a blade, which is installed at a primary wheel (1) and a secondary wheel (2). A cutting slit (4) is formed between the primary wheel and the secondary wheel. A working medium reaches over a filling canal (5) in a working chamber (3). An injection device (6) has a movable piston (7), which is movable in axial direction of a hydrodynamic machine between an active position, in which it injects a fluid blockage jet (18) into the cutting slit, and an inactive position, in which the blockage jet injection is disrupted.
