<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat belt device for a vehicle which has improved belt mountability. <P>SOLUTION: (1) The seat belt device 10 for the vehicle comprises: a pair of right and left shoulder belts 11, 12 vertically extending when the belts are worn; first belt reeling devices 20, 21 for reeling upward the shoulder belts; second belt reeling devices 22, 23 for reeling downward the shoulder belts; a band 40; and a holding means 50, wherein as the band 40 is lifted up, a belt-unworn-state is assumed, and as the band 40 is lowered to any region of an occupant's waist, abdomen, or breast, a belt-worn-state is assumed. The device has a buckleless structure. (2) A tongue plate 29 is mounted at the bottom of the shoulder belt 11 as one of the right and left shoulder belts so as to make only one of the right and left shoulder belts have a structure with a buckle. (3) A locking body 43 for slidably locking in front of the chest part of the right and left shoulder belts 11, 12 is provided.
