<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device, wherein visibility of a display image is improved, adjusting to illumination environment when an input image signal from a personal computer, or the like, is displayed. <P>SOLUTION: A value is such which decides that a detection result of an illuminance sensor 94 that detects the illuminance of the periphery of a projector 100 is bright, also the value decides that the detection result is bright, by performing white extension and black extension for the input image signal, when APL of the input image signal is low, also when APL is high, white extension is not performed; when it is a value which is decided as being dark, and this is output and image-displayed, without performing white extension and black extension. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
