<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical alkaline secondary battery which secures a battery capacity and shows a low internal short-circuit-occurrence rate. <P>SOLUTION: According to the cylindrical alkaline secondary battery, an electrically conductive cylindrical container (1) houses a positive electrode plate (3), a negative electrode plate (4), and a separator (5) that are spirally shaped in a plan view and are housed with an alkali electrolyte. The positive electrode plate (3) includes a porous metal element (20) and a positive mixture (22) carried by the metal element (20) and containing a positive active material. Part of the positive mixture (22) is embedded in the metal element (20), while the other part of the positive mixture (22) forms a cover layer (22a) covering one of both surfaces of the metal element (20) that is located on the inside in the radial direction of the container (1). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
