<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain real time communication in which a deadline is guaranteed in consideration of a data link layer level as well. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This data transmission system is constituted of a plurality of nodes connected to a logical ring network, wherein each node has: a transmission request acceptance means for accepting an execution request of periodical data transmission in which the deadline is determined in each period; a schedule possibility determination means for determining whether or not deadline guarantee of the requested data transmission is possible; and a transmission control means for transmitting frames in predetermined timing, and the schedule possibility determination means registers the requested data transmission as a communication task to be executed when the deadline can be guaranteed for all the communication tasks, and the transmission control means transmits data on the registered communication task by priority according to the deadline of the communication task.
