<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector which is capable of surely performing operation confirmation without giving the operational trouble to a user and with a simple configuration, when operating by using an operation key, etc. provided in a main body and when operating by using a remote operation means such as remote control. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A storage section 140 stores first setting information where the volume of an operation confirmation sound outputted by an operation confirmation sound output section 160 when an operation section 111 accepts operation input is set and second setting information where the volume of the operation confirmation sound outputted by the operation confirmation sound output section 160 when an operation signal receiving section 112 accepts a remote operation signal is set. A control section 120 allows the operation confirmation sound output section 160 to output the operation confirmation sound at the volume set in the first setting information, when the operation section 111 accepts the operation input and the operation confirmation sound output section 160 to output the operation confirmation sound at the volume set in the second setting information, when the operation signal receiving section 112 accepts the remote operation signal.
