<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold an arm on a position where a residual fuel amount can be measured, and to accurately measure the residual fuel amount. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This liquid level sensor 10 is equipped with the arm 12, which is turnable in a fixed range, a float 11 mounted on one end of the arm 12, a case 14 for turnably journaling the arm 12, and a detection means for detecting the turning of the arm 12. In the liquid level sensor, the arm 12 is extended, from between a mounting surface 17 where the sensor itself is mounted and the case 14, and the movement in a direction orthogonal to the turning direction of the arm 12 is regulated, by using a part of the mounting surface 17.
