<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give a sufficient strength to a screw suspending piece of a rotary cylinder and thereby to surely prevent a bad effect such as deformation, while accurately inspecting a screw thread of the neck part of a screw. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This inspecting apparatus of the screw includes the rotary cylinder 2 wherein a slit 3 for guiding and transferring an external screw part 1B of the screw 1 with a screw head 1A hung on the top side is provided at a prescribed interval, a rotating mechanism 10 which rotates the rotary cylinder 2, a supply mechanism 4 which supplies the screw 1 into the slit 3 of the rotary cylinders 2, and an inspecting mechanism 6 which inspects the screw 1 transferred by the rotary cylinder 2. The inspecting mechanism 6 includes a light source 7, a camera 8 and an operational inspection device 9. In the inspecting apparatus, the light of the light source 7 is transmitted through the slit 3 and received by the camera 8 and an image signal output from the camera 8 is subjected to an operational processing by the operational inspection device 9 so as to inspect the screw 1. The rotary cylinder 2 includes the paired suspending pieces 20 provided in an integrated structure on the opposite sides of the upper end of the slit.
