<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cut-off apparatus for a sewer using a butterfly valve so as not to be carried away by a cut-off pressure, allowing the butterfly valve to be restropectively fitted to the sewer and simplifying the after-fitting work. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The cut-off apparatus for the sewer comprises the butterfly valve 3 opening/closing a circular sewer pipe; a support device 4 supporting the butterfly valve in a rockable manner at an intermediate height position of the sewer pipe; and an opening/closing device 5 for opening the butterfly valve. The opening/closing device is installed in a manhole or the sewer pipe. The support device comprises two sets of journal units 42 each comprising a rotating shaft 40 and a bearing 41, and anchor bolts 43 fixing the journal units. An embedded part of each anchor bolt is bonded and solidified into an insertion hole of the sewer pipe, and an opposite side connection part is projected into the sewer pipe. The butterfly valve comprises a valve body 30 formed of a disk, and a sealing material 31 provided along the outer peripheral edge part of the valve body. The disk of the valve body is formed of a plurality of divided plates 33, and one of the rotating shaft and bearing is fixed to the connection part of the anchor bolt, while the other is fixed to the valve body.
