<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure diagnosis system capable of efficiently deleting diagnostic information of each ECU to be deleted upon VIN writing. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The failure diagnosis system deletes the diagnostic information, which is applied to a vehicle with a VIN storage ECU storing a vehicle identification number (VIN) and the diagnostic information, and other ECUs not storing the vehicle identification number but storing the diagnostic information. The system is configured to execute deletion of the diagnostic information stored in the other ECUs in addition to deletion of the diagnostic information stored in the VIN storage ECU along with writing of the vehicle identification number stored in the VIN storage ECU.
