PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rotary compressor capable of preventing increase of flexure of a crankshaft without increasing its dimension even when load applied to the crankshaft is increased and of attaining excellent lubrication of a journal bearing part for supporting the crankshaft and reduced wear. SOLUTION: The crankshaft is formed from steel for machine structural use. A surface of the crankshaft at least at a part to slide with the journal bearing is provided with a martensite layer or a nitride layer, a manganese phosphate film on surfaces of the martensite layer or the nitride layer, and a molybdenum disulfide film formed on the manganese phosphate film. The surface roughness of the nitride layer of the crankshaft is smaller than the surface roughness of the journal bearing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
