RESIN PARTICLE HAVING MANY RECESSES ON SURFACE THEREOF

Disclosed is a resin particle that has many recesses on the surface thereof and is resistant to solvents and heat.  The resin particle having many recesses on the surface thereof is obtained by using seed particles.  The resin particle having many recesses on the surface thereof is characterized in that a component of the seed particle in the resin particle has a crosslinked structure.  The resin particle having many recesses on the surface thereof has excellent solvent resistance and heat resistance in addition to light scattering properties and thus is suitable for use, for example, in not only cosmetic preparations containing a silicone oil and the like in products thereof but also light diffusing films or light diffusing sheets in which the resin particle is dispersed as a light diffusing agent in an organic solvent such as 2-butanone in the production process thereof, and light diffusing plates in which, in the production process thereof, a matrix resin such as polystyrene or polymethyl methacrylate, which has been molten at a high temperature of about 300°C, is kneaded with the resin particle as the light diffusing agent under a high shear force.
