PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that a conventional optical scanner requires a position-adjusting mechanism for adjusting the position of a lens or mirror, when the axial tilt of an optical deflector is detected in a production process thereof, to increase its cost. SOLUTION: A ring-shaped protrusion is formed on the surface of the housing of an optical scanner, and at least three through-holes are formed adjacent to the inside or outside of the ring-shaped protrusion of the housing, and a base board is placed on the ring-shaped protrusion so that the center of the fixation axis may be located at the center of the circle formed by the ring-shaped protrusion. Then, male screws are inserted into the through-holes from the back of the housing, and the front end parts of the male screws engage with female screws, which are formed at the positions corresponding to the through-holes in the base board, to fasten the base board tight.
