<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption of a fixing unit without decreasing throughput of printing, and to greatly reduce the adjustment time of the fixing unit, which is required when the sheets are changed, even if instructions to print a plurality of sheets having different characteristics while changing the sheets to be printed are included in one printing data. <P>SOLUTION: In the printing apparatus, a preset temperature value showing a preset temperature of a second fixing unit 116 controlled by a CPU of the printing apparatus when print processing including transfer processing and fixing processing is performed is prestored in a memory in association with a plurality of types of sheets that are usable by the printing apparatus. The CPU of the printing apparatus calculates a maintenance temperature value, which is a temperature value to be maintained by the second fixing unit 116 when the print processing is not performed, on the basis of a plurality of preset temperature values that are stored in the memory in association with the plurality of types of sheets, and controls the temperature of the second fixing unit 116 when fixing processing is not performed by the second fixing unit 116, on the basis of the maintenance temperature value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
