PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil leakage prevention apparatus of an upper looper mechanism preventing seizure in the sliding part of an upper looper base and the through-hole of an upper looper base guide thereby facilitating the fitting of a sealing member and the insertion of the upper looper base. SOLUTION: On the upper looper base 4 fixed to a sewing machine frame 2, the upper looper base guide 7 is mounted so as to be freely rotated. In the upper looper base guide 7, a through-hole 10 is formed in which the upper looper base 11 is freely slidably slid through an upper looper lever 15 by the linking of an upper looper shaft 14. A sealing member insertion hole 23 is formed at the upper end of the through-hole 10, and the sealing member 24 where an oil sealing lip 25 is formed is fitted from above into the sealing member insertion hole 23.
