PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader capable of reading a high-image-quality image small in noise by carrying out smooth document transport. SOLUTION: This image reader is provided with: a paper feed tray for mounting documents A thereon; a document transport part 800 transporting the documents A one by one from the paper feed tray toward a reading position 420; platen glass 410 allowing the image of the document during passing through the reading position 420 to permeate itself; an image reader part reading the image of the document A having permeated the platen glass 410; and a transport guide part 900 guiding the transport of the document A having passed through the reading position 420. An antistatic sheet for preventing the electrostatic attraction of the document A to the transport guide part 900 is arranged on a surface of the transport guide part 900. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
