HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE

A honeycomb structure having a honeycomb unit containing an inorganic particulate, an inorganic binder and an inorganic fiber, which honeycomb unit has the configuration of multiple cells extending from one end face to the other end face along the longitudinal direction thereof partitioned by a cell wall. The honeycomb structure is characterized in that in the distribution of inorganic fiber length wherein the axis of abscissas represents the fiber length while the axis of ordinate represents the volume frequency, when the fiber length at 10 vol.% from short side is referred to as D10, that at 50 vol.% as D50 and that at 90 vol.% as D90, the value of the formula {(D90-D10)/D50} is 2 or less.
