PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid degradation in rigidity of a bearing due to nonuniformity in width of clearance of a thrust bearing, and improve a rotating precision of a bearing unit. SOLUTION: A dynamic pressure type bearing unit is provided with an axis member having an axis part and a flange part, a thrust bearing surface which is arranged and faced to an end surface of the flange part and has a plurality of dynamic pressure grooves, and the clearance of the thrust bearing formed between the thrust bearing surface and the end surface of the flange part. The axis member of the dynamic pressure type bearing unit is supported in the thrust direction by fluid dynamic pressure generated at the clearance of the thrust bearing. Then the clearance of the thrust bearing is controlled at a certain level at least in the area of a dynamic pressure groove on the thrust bearing surface. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
