PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for oral spray, moistening the oral cavity over a long time from just after the application without irritation to the oral tissue such as the oral mucous membrane and without sticky feeling only by spraying by a user when the dryness in the mouth gets on user's nerves, effectively inhibiting dry mouth, and exhibiting excellent temporal stability and sprayability by a spray when used, and to provide a preparation for the oral cavity. SOLUTION: The composition for the oral spray is obtained by formulating (A) 0.05-5 mass% of a sodium or potassium salt of a polyglutamic acid, (B) 2-6 mass% of at least one kind of an organic acid and a salt thereof selected from citric acid and a salt thereof, malic acid and a salt thereof, tartaric acid and a salt thereof, and succinic acid and a salt thereof, and (C) 10-50 mass% of glycerol, regulated so that the mass ratio of the components (C)/(B) may be≥3 and <20.
