<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a caliper for an opposed piston type disk brake easily manufacturable without using a complicated die. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the caliper for an opposed piston type disk brake, a pair of caliper half bodies 11, 12 having one of opposed cylinder parts 20 is left in a housing space 2 of a disk and connected by a bridge part 13, and a brake pad is pressed against the disk 1 by a piston slidably fit in the cylinder part 20. The caliper half bodies 11, 12 are dividedly formed using the bridge part 13 as a boundary, and bridge parts 13 of both caliper half bodies 11, 12 are coupled by friction agitation joining.
