摘要 <p>The method involves aligning a beam i.e. laser beam (22), of an electromagnetic radiation on a light absorber (14) of a heat engine (10), so that the absorber heats a working medium (16) e.g. air, of the engine. A turbine (12) of the engine is driven using the heated working medium, so that the turbine generates mechanical energy. The mechanical energy is transferred from the heat engine to a device to be driven. The laser beam is produced by a carbon dioxide-laser beam or a solid state laser i.e. neodymium, yttrium-aluminum-garnet (ND:YAG) laser. The absorber consists of ceramic. An independent claim is also included for a heat engine with a turbine and a laser.</p>
