The motor vehicle door has a door body and a cavity which is formed between an outer door surface and an internal carrier surface at a distance from the door surface. The cavity consists of a drying area (40) and a wet area (14) separated by the drying area. A lock function unit (12) with an open, auxiliary lock lever (22) is arranged in the wet area. The lock lever has an actuator which is inserted into the drying area and is connected with pulling actuation transfer element (20) in the drying area. An independent claim is included for a method for assembling a motor vehicle door.
