<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an appropriate widthwise temperature distribution of a sheet of recording paper regardless of the width of the sheet of recording paper with a simple configuration that excels in controllability in the electromagnetic induction heat fixing device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electromagnetic induction heat fixing device includes: a heat roller 21 which generates heat by means of electromagnetic induction; a plurality of excitation coils L which are disposed along the widthwise direction of a sheet of recording paper S heated by the heat roller 21 and generate magnetic fluxes for electromagnetic induction; an electric circuit having a plurality of power supply paths for selectively supplying power to the plurality of excitation coils; and an IH control section 51 which controls supply of power to the excitation coils. At least one of the power supply paths includes a bypass path P which, in order to stop or suppress supply of power to a prescribed one of the excitation coils, bypasses the prescribed excitation coil.
