摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device for balancing a design pattern effect with a recognition rate of a dot pattern with respect to code information-embedding data with a design pattern function; and an image processing method of an image formation device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: First, test patterns wherein a plurality of patches each recorded with a small dot pattern and a large dot pattern are arranged by changing respective dot sizes are printed (S101, S108). The test patterns are read, detection rates and average concentration of embedded additional information in relation to the respective large dot patterns are obtained, and a large dot pattern wherein the values thereof are set in reference ranges and closest to ideal values is determined (S107). The average concentration in relation to the respective small dot patterns is obtained, a small dot pattern wherein the value thereof is set in a reference range and closest to the average concentration of the determined large dot pattern is determined (S114).
