<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crystal oscillator in a double-stage overlapped structure, wherein two crystal pieces are housed in the same container, for dealing with two frequencies for oscillation and for temperature compensation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a structure wherein a principal surface of a crystal piece extending a lead electrode 3 from an exciting electrode 2 is disposed in a horizontal direction with respect to a principal surface of a metal base 4 and both end portions of the crystal piece are held by supporters each including a vertical part. In the structure, first and second crystal pieces are overlapped on double stages wherein plate surfaces are confronted across the extending direction of the lead electrode, the supporters are provided in both end portions on an intersection straight lines, a first holding part is provided at a lower end side of vertical parts of first and second supporters 5a and 5b, a second holding part is provided at an upper end side of vertical parts of third and fourth supporters 5c and 5d, both the end portions of the first crystal piece 1a are held in the first holding part, and both the end portions of the second crystal piece 1b are held in the upper-end side second holding part provided at a side of both the end of the other intersecting straight line.
