<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently use a frame to store data while maintaining compatibility of data transmission by an existing frame. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A transmission device 10 includes a transmission part 12. In transmitting a digital signal by storing it in a frame having a data storage bit string and an attribute bit, the transmission part 12 stores a digital signal of main data in one of bit string of data storage bit strings, stores a digital signal of secondary data in a bit other than the one of the data storage bit strings in which the main data is stored, and stores the information indicating the number of bits of the one bit string in which the main data is stored, and the information indicating an attribute of the secondary data, in an attribute bit string composed of attribute bits of a plurality of frames.
