<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems in a cooling unit using an expansion valve wherein a refrigerant in front of the expansion valve needs to be a supercooling liquid from the viewpoint of characteristics of the expansion valve but when the length of piping between a condenser and the expansion valve is long, the liquid length is long and an originally unnecessary refrigerant is filled to cause liquid compression or liquid return by foaming at the flooded start to refrigerator oil during stop, filling of a refrigerant beyond limitation when using an inflammable refrigerant, or the like. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The refrigerant at an outlet of the condenser 2 is provided in a two-phase state, and a refrigerant tank 9 is provided as a refrigerant liquid storage means 3 directly in front of the expansion valve 4. The refrigerant liquid from the refrigerant tank 9 can thereby flow surely to the expansion valve 4, and the filled quantity of the refrigerant can be reduced. Ž<P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT Ž
