<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of lack of throttle position detection accuracy caused by a play of a connection cable inevitably given on safety of an outer-attachment throttle position detection device using a Y shape branch type connection cable frequently used for a slide valve type throttle valve of a carburetor for a spark ignition internal combustion engine, and to reduce the manufacturing cost of the whole of the device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: By biasing a cable for connecting the throttle valve to a throttle position sensor in a valve-opening direction of the throttle valve by a spring, tension is always generated on the cable and the play and deflection of a throttle position detection system are eliminated by the tension. By giving the play required on safety to the outside of the detection system, improvement of the detection accuracy and insurance of safety are attained. Further, by also using the connection cable as a transmission route of force for opening/closing-operating the throttle valve, the number of components is reduced and the manufacturing cost is reduced.
